Jaws

 Based off this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lJGYgxDnb0

Starting off, we see a man in a cage. There are few sounds, only the occasional banging of the steel cage, which was created in Foley, broke the silence. At the moment, the audience isn't really sure on how to feel. The suspension is growing, but why? Nothing bad has happened at the moment. However, Jaws soon appears. It is still silent when we first see him, this shows that the man has not yet noticed him and isn't aware of the danger his is currently in. It is not until Jaws bangs the cage that the music kicks in. The clashing notes of high and low pitch causes the audience to feel a sense of un-ease and gives them a fight or flight response. It isn't until Jaws second appearance, coming back towards the cage that his own Leitmotif stats playing. This was written especially for Jaws, using manly only sting instruments. The Cello was the most used instrument through out all of this, for is low, droning noise. Dissonance was a very heavily used technique in the making of the entire movie, let alone this one clip. It gave the viewer the feel of the movie, and let them know what the characters were feeling (Scared, sad, etc.)
When the man finally got a way, we had a small break from the clashing notes and the music got a bit more melodic, giving the viewer a moment to relax.

As there couldn't really be any spoken lines in the first few scenes of this clip (They were under water), the use of Foley was used a lot. The clashing of the cage, the thud when the pole hit the sea bed. It wasn't until we reached the surface that we had a more of a dialog, and the music got a bit quieter.

Its the noises the actors make. It is taken and replaced by another recording the actors did, so the sound quality is better
